A brief note about the empowerments (簡短的灌頂介紹):

Seven Treasures (Lha Drub Ter Kha Dun Du) (蓮師七寶藏) is an elaborate Guru Yoga practice compiled by Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje Drodul Lingpa Tsal, at the request of the dakini Yeshe Tsogyal. It’s a particularly beneficial practice for this degenerate time when it’s so difficult to receive and practice guru yogas of many different lineages. By combining the treasure lineages from seven tertons, including himself, His Holiness has made it possible to practice and maintain lineages in danger of disappearing.

Tsokyey Tuk-Tik (Lake-Born Vajra) (海生心滴- 密蓮師海生金剛) is a mind treasure of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche based on Guru Rinpoche belonging to the secret category of lama practice, the root of blessing.

Dorje Drolo (海生心滴- 最密忿猛蓮師), a mind treasure of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, is the most wrathful form of Guru Rinpoche. It belongs to the innermost secret category of lama practice, the root of blessing.

Vajrakilaya (普巴金剛) is one of the main yidam practices in the Nyingma lineage, the root of spiritual accomplishment (siddhi). Putri Rekphung (普巴利刃觸滅) is a mind treasure of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche. We practice this regularly at Pema Osel Ling. Namchak Putri (普巴伏魔天鐵利刃) is Dudjom Lingpa’s earth treasure (sa-ter) from the Zab-Sang Khandro Nying-Tik cycle. It is a very extensive Vajrakilaya practice that has recently been translated and will form the basis of the Gutor Vajrakilaya retreat prior to next Losar.

Khandro Tuk-Tik (空行心滴 - 外耶喜措嘉佛母) is His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche’s mind treasure based on the dakini Yeshe Tsogyal. Dakini practices are the root of activity and promise swift accomplishment.

Thröma Nagmo (The Wrathful Black Mother) (黑忿怒母) is a mind treasure from the Chönyi Namkhai Long Dzöd cycle of Dudjom Lingpa. It is a dakini practice, the root of activity. At least thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa’s disciples attained rainbow body through the practice of Thröma Nagmo.

Tse-drup Chime Sok-Tik is a longevity practice based on Amitayus that was revealed by Surmang Namkhai Dorje for Dudjom Rinpoche’s long life. Dudjom Rinpoche always did this practice in Tibet and India. It is a long sadhana that has hitherto not been performed in the US. Now we have translated it in English and look forward to practicing it together.

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche (主法上師簡介) :

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche is a student of important Tibetan Buddhist lamas including Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Sakya Trizin, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, and the16th Karmapa. He is the head of the renowned Dzongsar Monastery and Dzongsar College. Rinpoche is currently responsible for the care and education of approximately 1600 monks distributed between six monasteries and institutes in Asia. He also oversees 6 branches of Siddhartha’s Intent, contemporary teaching and practice centers established in several continents as well as the non-profit organizations Khyentse Foundation and Lotus Outreach.

“We requested His Eminence Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche bestow these empowerments because Vajrayana Foundation’s main practices come from the Dudjom lineage. Receiving these empowerments is really necessary in order for us to do the practices here. His Eminence Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche is the third generation of Dudjom Father and Son lineage – he carries both family and Dharma lineage. For us he is very important, now and in the future.

This is the time to establish genuine Dharma in the West. Vajrayana Buddhism was established in Tibet by the Abbott Shantarakshita(寂護), Guru Rinpoche (蓮師), and King Trisong Detsen (藏王赤松德貞).

Later at a time of decline of Dharma in Tibet, in order to revitalize the Dharma, Shantarakshita incarnated (寂護化身) as Jamgön Kongtrul (蔣貢康楚), Guru Rinpoche incarnated (蓮師化身) as Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa (邱吉德千林巴), and King Trisong Detsen incarnated (藏王赤松德貞化身) as Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo (蔣揚欽哲旺波), known together as Jamgön Namsum.

Now in the West, we have the great fortune that Shantarakshita incarnated (寂護化身) as an emanation of Vajrapani, Kyabje Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche (董瑟聽列諾布仁波切); Guru Rinpoche incarnated (蓮師化身) as His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (敦珠法王 吉扎耶喜多傑); and King Trisong Detsen incarnated (藏王赤松德貞化身) as His Eminence Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche (宗薩欽哲仁波切). These are three extremely important lamas to establish the Dharma in the West. That is why we requested these particular empowerments from this particular teacher. I highly recommend that you join us.”
